Whether you are suffering from a few stubborn pockets of fat or a more serious case of over padding, there are a number of different procedures to rid of yourself of the flab.
Liposuction; traditional liposuction uses a cannula to disrupt the fat cells before suctioning them out. Some forms of liposuction uses fluid to help break up the fat first but this can be quite an aggressive procedure and is usually performed under a general anaesthetic. It can remove fat from the following areas; the outer and inner thighs, knees, hips, arms, stomach, buttocks, chin, waist and back. It is not suitable for obese people – liposuction is best suited to patients who are as close to their ideal weight as possible.
SmartLipo; this system uses laser energy to heat the fat cells, causing them to break down. The fat deposits are then absorbed by the body and passed out naturally although many practitioners also suction much of the fat out as well. As the fat is heated this is a lot less aggressive procedure than liposuction and it is performed under a local anaesthetic.
VASER Lipo; this is ultrasound-assisted liposelection in that it promises to just remove the fat cells rather than damaging the surrounding tissue. It targets smaller pockets of fat than some of the other systems, but with Vaser Hi-Def practitioners are now able to remove fat even closer to the muscles for a more aesthetic result. Good skin elasticity is important as it won’t shrink the skin. It can target any part of the body, including the inner and outer thighs, lower back, abdomen, buttocks, knees, chin and neck, arms and calves.
