Fat cells are very delicate and traditional fat harvesting techniques such a liposuction resulted in many fate cells being damaged which had a negative affect on their viability when re-injected.

The Human Med Body-Jet combines two processes; fat is removed, harvested and then made ready to be grafted in any area of the body to enhance contours, such as the face and hands to combat loss of volume through ageing or in the breasts and body for enhanced volume and to correct contour irregularities.

Body-Jet: Am I suitable?


 For fat removal purposes alone, the Body-Jet is suitable for anyone who is relatively close to their ideal weight but may be carrying extra weight in areas that don't respond to diet and exercise. The liposuction will permanently remove those fat cells and the practitioner will be able to sculpt much more aesthetically pleasing contours.

In terms of fat grafting, the process can be used for facial augmentation and is suitable for women and men who are showing the signs of ageing, particularly volume loss. It can also be used in the body for breast augmentation and for filling irregularities.

Human Med Body-Jet: What’s the treatment like?

There are two separate parts of the process. Unlike traditional liposuction methods, the Body-Ket uses a gentle jet of water to dislodge and remove fat from the body, while sparing blood vessels, nerves and surrounding tissue.

Body-Jet is almost painless compared to other energy-based machines and the procedure can be performed under local anaesthetic and sedation.

If the patient wishes to combine the liposuction with fat grafting, the practitioner will gently remove enough fat cells to use for re-injection and then complete the rest of the liposculpture procedure.

The fat cells for grafting are taken off into a canister which is enclosed within the machine, so it is all totally sterile and then the fat cells are drawn up into syringes. Multiple injections of tiny amounts of the fat cells are inserted – the fat cells need to be in such small amounts to ensure that they ‘take’ as they need to establish a blood supply otherwise they will just be reabsorbed by the body.

As it is relatively gentle you should be pain-free within just a couple of days of the procedure.

Human Med Body-Jet: Are there any risks or side effects? 


Compared to other liposuction methods, water-assisted liposuction removes fat with much less force and a lower risk of side effects. There is no risk of burns and a much lower risk of bruising or injury to nerve tissues.
